Select one of the 155 different radar sites using buttons on the map, the full radar list in the sidebar, or your list of saved favorites in the menu bar. Zoom in and out on the map using the mouse or pinch gestures on multi-touch trackpads. You can browse the list of active warnings in the information sidebar, select a warning to view the details, and even zoom to the selected warning on the map. RadarScope displays tornado, severe thunderstorm, and flash flood warnings issued by the National Weather Service.
Whether you are scanning reflectivity for a mesocyclone's tell-tale hook echo, trying to pinpoint the landfall of a hurricane's eye wall, or looking for small features like velocity couplets in the storm relative radial velocity product, RadarScope gives you the power to view true radial NEXRAD weather radar on your Mac. These aren't smoothed PNG or GIF images, this is real Level 3 radar data rendered in its original radial format for a high level of detail. It can display the latest reflectivity, velocity, and other radar products from any NEXRAD radar site in the United States, Guam and Puerto Rico. #RADARSCOPE FREE ANDROID#
RadarScope 3.9 adds support for notched displays when running on Android 9 or higher. You can learn more about snow squall warnings on Wikipedia and the NWS web site:Īndroid 9 added support for displays with notches or cutouts for cameras and other sensors. NWS criteria for issuing a snow squall warning include visibility of less one quarter of a mile, sub-freezing temperatures on the ground, expected duration of less than an hour, and dangerous or life-threatening conditions. Snow squall warnings are intended to warn the public of reduced visibility due to lake effect and frontal snow squalls. National Weather Service (NWS) began issuing snow squall warnings last November.

Older versions of RadarScope will continue to rely on our data center in Dallas, so upgrade to 3.9 as soon as you can for the best experience! Snow Squall Warnings We’re now serving all radar and lightning data to RadarScope 3.9 through Amazon Web Services, giving us increased redundancy, bandwidth, and load-scaling capabilities. We’re expanding our suite of dual-polarization products for NEXRAD radars to include super-resolution versions of differential reflectivity, correlation coefficient, and specific differential phase at all four tilts. As additional radars are upgraded and the data are made available to us, we’ll add support for them. These new radars feature an improved product suite including high-resolution reflectivity, velocity, spectrum width, differential reflectivity, correlation coefficient, and specific differential phase at four tilts. RadarScope 3.9 adds data for five new radars: Radisson (CASRA), Blainville (CASBV), Foxwarren (CASFW), Smooth Rock Falls (CASRF), and Spirit River (CASSR). The Canadian government is in the midst of a multi-year effort to upgrade their radar network. Others provide reflectivity and velocity or only reflectivity. Several of these radars provide a full product suite of reflectivity, velocity, and spectrum width at four tilts. We added support for 51 radars operated by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. Today’s update includes many new features and improvements. It’s available today for iOS, macOS, and Android, with Windows and tvOS to follow soon. We’re pleased to announce RadarScope 3.9.
